“I am always looking for ways to help my community keep money in their pocket so that their money works for them. The objective this month is to teach persons how to turn down their impulsive spending habits and opt instead for a healthier spending diet that is more valued and mindfully based. This allows them to have money for the upcoming holiday, start or increase their savings, pay down debt, increase or save towards a 2022 financial goal,” she said.
Since starting her No SpendNovember on November 1st, she has had fifteen persons who have registered to be a part of the initiative.
“So far for day 1, 15 persons have registered but this will increase as the days go by as social media posts are being shared across platforms by friends, as well as colleagues in the financial literacy and coaching space,” she said.
The former Alleyne Secondary School student said that the goal of No Spend November is to teach persons how to become masters of their own finances.
“The goal is to teach persons to become masters of their money. To become disciplined and in control of their spending so that they can channel money towards things that create value. I strongly believe that when you become disciplined in one area, it creates a ripple effect in key areas of your life. As Robert Kiyosaki said, ‘it is not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you want to keep it for,” she said.
Armstrong said that when persons join the No Spend November movement, they should walk away knowing that they hold the key to their future.
“I want persons to walk away knowing that they hold the key to their future and that they have the power and the authority to create a financial forecast for their lives. This challenge goes beyond money but speaks to the heart because that is where our desires flow from. If you become more aware of your subconscious decisions you have unlocked the key to wealth,” she said.
