Cooking with Caribbean Flavour

Roshell Wilson is the owner of Ro’s Cuisine which is a catering business which is located in Farnums Land, Deacons, St. Michael.

The business owner who is a Vincentian native and resident of Barbados said she decided to start her business five years ago because she had a burning desire for fine cuisine.

“All I could imagine back then was the smiles on faces after tasting what I had to offer. After working tirelessly cooking in several food businesses I was prompted to devote myself fully to my craft. Initially, I started making treats for my neighbours. With encouragement from them and my boyfriend, Ro’s Cuisine was created,” she said.

Wilson who offers provides a Caribbean-inspired catering service said that her small business said that she knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a chef.

“At a very young age, I realized I would rather be home helping my grandmother who is a renounced cook. I had always looked at the reaction of persons faces while they ate and it created a tremendous warmth inside of me,” she said.

The caterer whose mantra for life is words by the late Maya Angelou “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style,” said that she is seeking to open one of the finest restaurants in the world.

“I am working towards owning and running one of the best fine dining restaurants in the world. When I reminisce on how far I have come and how far my business has developed I am excited for the future as I know I can achieve my dream of owning my own restaurant,” she said.

Wilson said that persons should come to Ro’s Cuisine because they would be left with a smile along with splendid customer service a mesmerizing taste of the Caribbean. One of her signature dishes is pre-baked pizza crust.

She said one thing that entrepreneurship has taught her is how to be strong-willed and passionate in everything she does.

“Entrepreneurship has thought me that being strong-willed and passionate in whatever I do. It has also taught me that discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment as if you do not work on your dreams someone will hire you to help to build theirs,” she said.(Write Right PR Services)
